TROPHY / AWARD STYLE MINT JULEP CUP
FROM THE HISTORIC COLUMBIA COUNTRY CLUB
IN CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND USA
MADE BY PREISNER SILVER CO., USA, MODEL # 140
NO PERSONAL MONOGRAMS OR ENGRAVINGS,
THEY STAND 3-7/8" TALL, TOP RIM IS 3-1/4" IN DIAMETER,
IT WILL HOLD ABOUT 10 OUNCES OF LIQUID,
TOTAL WEIGHT OF ONE CUP IS 150.0 GRAMS

Each shows light wear due to use and storage over the years, including typical marks, scratches, and a few light dents in at least 3 spots.  They have been gently hand polished and ultrasonic cleaned in a mild dish soap, and they have nice shine, are very clean, and have a soft, silky feel to them.  They are straight, round and not bent, have no stains, have no personal engravings, with no major issues at all.   All 3 cups share the same conditions.
They have a blue enameled cartouche / medallion mounted to the exterior with the CCC shield and scroll logo for the club and reads COLUMBIA COUNTRY CLUB and are hallmarked on the bottom PREISNER STERLING 140, hallmark for historic and listed USA silversmith, Preisner Silver Co. of Wallingford, Connecticut.  I am uncertain if these cups would have been made for use as trophies or awards, souvenirs sold on grounds, or to be used in the actual club.  Very unique, nonetheless.
This is a great, more hard to find piece for those that may be members of this exclusive golf country club, you collect interesting golf memorabilia or local history, fine silver by this listed maker, or you're looking for cups like this to use in your own bar!  Display it in a historical archive or fill it with your favorite drink after a round!
