Description
Jacques had a pretty serious baby cup. This 1920's cup has survived in relatively good condition. Sadly, baby cups show the softness of silver on their bottom rims. This one has the requisite bops and bashes, but because of the heaviness of this piece, it survived in with minimal damage.Cup is clearly marked with Durgin hallmark. Durgin merged with Gorham in 1924. Under the Durgin hallmark is the number 50, probably a model number. Then we see the name "Brand-Chatillon Co.". Brand Chatillon was an upscale 5th Avenue New York City retailer c. 1910 - 1940's. That let's us know our cup dates to 1910 - 1924. Handle is very Art Deco and monogram font is very blocky, so I'm going to the end of that range.
Silver weight is 88 grams.
Dimensions:
Top diameter: 2.5" (note slightly out of round)
Bottom diameter: 2 1/8"
Widest point with handle: 3.5"
Height: 2.25"

Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment.
